Dr. Brad Blumenstock

Dr. Brad Blumenstock was born and raised in Lincoln, NE, where he attended Lincoln Southeast High School and Nebraska Wesleyan University before graduating from Indiana University, College of Optometry in 1997. Dr. Blumenstock has over twenty years of experience working with children, geriatrics, primary eye care, ocular disease, and contact lenses. He and his wife, Georgia (Easley), who is also a Lincoln native, have four children and recently moved back to Lincoln from O’Neill, NE. In O’Neill, Dr. Blumenstock was a partner at Gutshall & Blumenstock Eyecare for 19 years. He is active in the American Optometric Association, Nebraska Optometric Association, the Lion’s Club, and St. Peter’s Parish. In 2003, Dr. Blumenstock was named Young Optometrist of the Year by the Nebraska Optometric Association (NOA) and was elected President of the association in 2009.

Dr. Derek Blumenstock

Dr. Derek Blumenstock is a comprehensive optometrist and who specializes in primary vision care, contact lens fittings, pediatric eye care, urgent eye care, dry-eye, glaucoma, and pre- and post-operative care. He is also the oldest son of Dr. Brad Blumenstock (above).

Born in Lincoln and raised in O’Neill, NE, Dr. Blumenstock attended Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD, where he played baseball and graduated summa cum laude with honors. He earned his Doctorate of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2019. During his optometric education, Dr. Blumenstock completed externships at the Hope Eye Clinic in Houston, TX, and the Optometric Indian Health Services in Albuquerque, NM. He also served as a tutor, a teaching assistant, and a leader for the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists group while in optometry school.

In his free time, Dr. Blumenstock enjoys coaching and playing sports, being active in his local community and church, and spending time with his family. He enjoys spending time with his wife Kimmy and their two dogs. He has developed a passion for golf and continues to cheer for his Husker’s return to glory! Dr. Blumenstock is licensed for the practice of optometry by the state examining boards of Nebraska. He is a member of the Nebraska Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, American Academy of Optometry, and Vision Source.

Dr. Justine Blumenstock-Slusarczyk

Dr. Justine Blumenstock-Slusarczyk is a graduate of University of Houston College of Optometry. She has clinical training in myopia control, vision therapy, pediatrics, eye infections, dry eye, diabetic eye care, cataracts, retinal pathology, and specialty contact lenses. She practices primary eyecare for patients for all ages, and has taken a special interest in dry eye, myopia control, and vision therapy. While completing her doctorate in Houston, she was very involved in serving the school and the community through organizations where she held leadership roles and teaching assistant positions. 

Dr. Justine performed clinical rotations at Cedar Springs Community Eye Clinic in Dallas and at the San Diego Naval Station Clinics, and while in San Diego she met her husband, Nathan Slusarczyk. Dr. Blumenstock was raised in O’Neill, Nebraska and graduated from Lincoln’s Nebraska Wesleyan University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology and minors in Business and Philosophy. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, baking, and exploring new places and cuisines.
